Board rules that actually get enforced
Search the title first. If a thread exists, post inside it. A second thread with a slightly different spelling splits the answers and gets merged or removed. The title should name the subject in plain words. “Help,” “please,” and a string of tags are not titles.
Adults only, same as the rest of the community. Do not turn a request thread into a place for someone else’s personal information, harassment, or a pile-on. If a post breaks the forum rules, report it. Do not prosecute it in the replies.
Spotlight-style writeups, where you are recommending rather than asking, follow the habits in reading the room and title and tag habits.

Reminder after a messy afternoon: one subject, one thread. If you are bumping, add a sentence about what is new. “Bump” alone will be treated as noise once a thread is already on page one.

Merged three twins before lunch. All three would have been avoided by reading the first page of the original. The search thread is not optional on this board.

If you are writing a recommendation, put the actual recommendation in the opening post. Reply forty is too late for the point of the thread.
